I made this mix to see if I could emulate the feeling that comes over me every time I listen to a DJ Enne mix from 1984; but with modern tracks. It's a stomp-my-feet-to-the-beat-type of hypnosis that I'd never quite felt so intensely... It was very timely that there's a sort of Cosmic/Balearic revival going on at the moment; so I was able to at least keep the mix below 110bpm like. There are some faster tracks that are slowed down as well like they used to do with the faster Disco tracks back then. Of course I had to include recent productions by Baldelli and DJ Enne; pioneers of the sound that I was going for. Towards the end I wanted to go back in time and play some of the songs that I was able to identify from the DJ Enne mix for posterity's sake. I don't think I was able to recreate the old Cosmic Sound; but it could just be that we're not on the tail-end of prog rock electronic experimentalism, the DIY phase of Disco, nor the birth-pangs of Electro and New Wave anymore. Music has moved on and developed and genres have come and gone only to come back again, a little different.
